No. 202/2011/Home dated 22- January -2011, published as S.R.O No. 55/2011 in the Kerala Gazette Extraordinary No. 141 dated 22nd January- 2011 in so far as it relates to the area of Coastal Police Station Vizhinjam and Neendakara Coastal Police Station. The Government of Kerala hereby declared that the building CP/XIV/213.A Chirayinkeezhu Panchayath Thazhampally, Near Muthalapozhi Bridge, Sarkara Village, Anchuthengu PO. Pin. 695309 situated shall be a police station known as "Coastal Police Station, Anchuthengu ".
Jurisdiction details
Jurisdiction extend territorial waters of the coast of Thiruvananthapuram. Revenue district begins from south St.Andrews to the northern boarder Kappil to an extent of 12 nautical mile from the coast.

Historical important places
Anchuthengu, formerly known as Anjengo, is a coastal town near Kadakkavoor in Thiruvananthapuram District. The place possesses great archaeological and historical importance. In 17th century, the English East India Company selected Anjengo to set up their first trade settlement in Kerala. Queen of Attingal granted the place to the British for trading. They established a factory and a fort here with the permission of the queen. Many ancient churches, an old lighthouse, a 100 year old convent and school, tombs of Dutch and British and the Anjengo Fort are major points of interest here. Anjuthengu has a beautiful and clean beach. Kaikara village, the birth place of the famous Malayalam poet Kumaran Asan, is located nearby.

Anchuthengu Fort
The Fort of Anchuthengu
It was built in the 16th century by the British for keeping the weapons and other valuable things through the sea which mainly used for suppressing the historically signified “Attingal Riot”. Now the Fort is being protected by the Archaeological survey of India as per the Ancient Monuments and Archaeological sites and Remain Act 1958.
Light House
It was built by British and now it is being worked under the Department of Shipping and Light House.
Kayikkara
The birth place of the great poet Mahakavi Kumaranasan is in the jurisdiction of Anchuthengu police station. The famous Asan Memorial Building is situated there in Kayikara.

Varkala Beach
Harbour and Muthalappozhi beach
Muthalapozhy, the southern boundary of the jurisdiction, thre falls the Vamanapuram River and the Bake water of Anchuthengu together into the sea and now in Muthalapozhy a harbor is being worked. The bridge at Muthalapozhy which links between Anchuthengu and Kadinamkulam is its last constructional stage.
