Thiruvananthapuram Rural Police Dog Squad comprised of 4 dogs named Julie, Anna, Daya and Jerry. The dog squad assumes significance during festivals, VVIP functions and helps in detecting explosives and drugs.

In the year 2014 Julie and Anna were purchased and send them with four handlers to Kerala police academy for 9 months training. After the successful 9 month training they were join as a part of Thiruvananthapuram Rural Police dog Squad from 06/01/2015. Throughout the training period Julie and Anna maintain good learning skill. The Tracker dog Julie assist Local Police in detecting crime case (both theft and murder case) and Sniffer dog Anna perform its ability in VVIP and VIP duties. Their kennel is in Neyyattinkara Sub Division limit at Kanjiramkulam Police Quarters.

Daya and Jerry were purchased in the year 2015 and joined in Thiruvananthapuram Rural Police dog Squad on 09/07/2016 after the successful 9 months training. During the training period Jerry selected as Best Tracker Dog and bagged gold medal. Daya and Jerry were stayed at Venjaramoodu Police Quarters in Attingal Sub Division.

In 2015 Kerala Police State Duty meet, Dog Squad competition held at Kerala Police Academy, Julie and Anna reached First place and bagged Gold Medal in Tracker dog and Sniffer dog competitions. They were also selected to participating All India Police Duty Meet held at Panchakula, Haryana during the same year and showed remarkable performance.
